02Validation route
Before it flies to Baku, the paper goes through this.
Azerbaijan is part of the Hague Convention, so a Spanish document needs no consular legalisation: it needs an apostille, and nearly always an Azerbaijani translation.
The issuing office
The Civil Registry, the university, the notary or the court: the original document, or its official copy.
Apostille in Spain
Ministry of Justice, Notaries' Association or High Court of Justice, depending on who issued the document. Spain did not object to Azerbaijan's accession: the apostille is enough, with no consular legalisation.
The shipment
We collect, transport and deliver in Baku (another city, we confirm it first). It's the only step that's ours.
Azerbaijani translation
Azerbaijan's embassies ask, for foreign certificates, for a translation into Azerbaijani certified by a notary. Check with whoever receives it whether it's done there or before sending.
And the other way round
An Azerbaijani document for Spain is apostilled by Azerbaijan's Ministry of Justice or Ministry of Foreign Affairs, depending on the document, and the request is filed at the ASAN xidmət centres.
